Final Scenes
7th Grade Drama

Below is a list of guidelines for your final scenes.

For the Final Scenes, each student will be graded on four things:
  1) The Script
  2) Working as a Group
  3) Working as an Individual
  4)  Groundplan
The four grades will then be combined to make one grade.

1. Each student will be assigned a partner.
2. Scenes are to be a minimum of 4 minutes, no longer than 5 minutes.
3. Scenes my not contain violence of any sort. This means no punching, slapping, or body slamming your partner.
4. No foul language.
5. Scenes will be graded on originality of  the script and the characters created.
6. During the performance, scripts will be allowed. However, if you use a script you can receive no higher than grade than a B.
7. Points will be deducted for laughing inappropriately during your scene. By this I mean "falling out of character".
8. There are no "do-overs". Once you start the scene, continue on. If there is a mistake or you forget a line, then improvise. So long as the scene appears to be progressing naturally, you'll be fine. If you don't let us know you made a mistake, then we won't know you've made a mistake.
9. Do not talk to members of the audience if it is not part of the scene. Points will be deducted for this.
10. Make the characters believable.
11. As a member of the audience, if you talk during another group's scene, then points will be deducted from your scene - with a possible detention for disrupting the class.
12. Most importantly, believe in yourself.  If you have fun on the stage then we will have fun in the audience.
